Why did you become an attorney?

My primary motivation in becoming an attorney was to help people. Oftentimes, the average person has no voice or access to justice. These days I get excited every day helping families qualify for basic government benefits by cutting through all of the bureaucracy and red tape.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

My mother died in my arms and my father at the time had alzheimers. My family struggled with this crisis. Yet it was this experience which motivated me to help other families overcome these types of obstacles.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

I was the first lawyer in Ohio to obtain a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in estate planning and elder law. In addition, I am board certified by the Ohio State Bar Association in estate planning, trust and probate law. This specialty area enables me to help seniors protect their assets and their independence as they grow older. It is a privilege to serve the greatest generation.

What makes your law firm unique?

Our law firm is unique because everything we do is client centered. For instance, we are the only law firm which gives a 100% money back guarantee on all of our work. We also give everyone a free no obligation consultation. Lastly, we quote all of our legal fees in advance of doing any legal work.

Describe your ideal client.

An ideal client is 55 or older and highly motivated to put together an estate plan that incorporates long term care planning. Whether single or married, our ideal client has someone they love who they want to pass their assets free of probate, nursing homes and taxes.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

I have always had a very strong interest in local and state government. That is why I served over 20 years as village councilman, township trustee and mayor. One of my few hobbies involves collecting antique radios and Kennedy campaign memorabilia. Lastly, I have a deep and abiding faith in God. Prayer in my daily life is extremely important.

Describe your charitable activities.

I am proud to be a Founding Trustee of the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project. This organization provides free legal services to the indigent. For the last 20 years I have provided free legal services to Suicide Prevention, Inc. This organization operates a crisis hotline.
